About the Site

I started this website as an educational resource to showcase my personal fossil collection and share my passion for paleontology-the study of fossils. My fascination with fossils began when I was a kid walking along the shores of Lake Michigan and picking up a weathered fossil coral. What might of seemed like a unassuming pebble sparked an interest in natural history that will last a lifetime.

The Collection-Gallery features both personally collected and prepared specimens as well as professionally prepared specimens that I have acquired. Together, the specimens in my collection represent a diverse record of prehistoric life from more than 30 geological formations in 10 countries, and 9 of Earth's 12 major geological periods.

Studying ancient life not only helps us understand a distant past, but also provides guidance towards the environmental challenges and biodiversity losses we face today. By understanding how species and ecosystems adapted to past environmental changes, we gain a deeper perspective on the importance of protecting the natural world today. I hope this collection serves not only as a record of ancient life, but also as a reminder that life on this planet is fragile, and it is our duty as stewards to protect it.

Maintaining this website and researching new specimens has inspired me to keep expanding my own knowledge, and I hope it encourages visitors to pursue the subjects that spark their curiosity as well.
